Madeline is still in the hospital recieving antibiotics to fight an infection in her system. We are told this is pretty common for Chemo patients. They will continue to monitor her progress and let us know when we can bring her home again.
Madeline has a new trick she can do, she can run her fingers through her hair and then hand you a beautiful nest of brown hair. Yes that means her hair has begun to fall out. George has already been asked by the kids when he will shave his head. His response was soon.
We also want to let everyone know that Madeline will be featured on the 10 o'clock news tonight on KSL Channel 5, Michelle is a little bummed because Madey's hospital room doesn't get channel 5 for some reason, she may have to sneak out and watch it in the lobby.
Thanks agian to everyone for thier love, support, and prayers, keep them coming!

Madey,
ReplyDeleteYou are so strong and such a great example to all of us. English isn't the same without you:) I marvel daily at how amazing you are and hope to one day be like you. Keep up the good work, you have half of Utah behind you. We all love you so much, and if you got a letter saying someone prayed for you for every prayer, your house would be bursting at the seams:) Love you Madey.

Slaughter family,
ReplyDeleteYou don't know me but I saw Madey's story on KSL.com and wanted you to know that your family is in my prayers. I have been at PCMC often with my boys so I know how hard it can be when you have a child up there. IF you ever need anything please ask.
Andrea
Hi Madey,
ReplyDeleteMy best friend was diagnosed with osteosarcoma when he was a junior in highschool. Although it was a tough time, it made him stronger and gave him a perspective on life that i have always envied. Remember through trials and tribulations we get our reward. Good luck, you are in our prayers.
Regards,
The Hutchings
I saw your story on the news last night. We can attest that you are in the best hands possible up there at Primarys Oncology. Madey, hang in there! You have fans cheering you on in Eagle Mountain. Sending big hugs and lots of prayers. Though we are strangers, please let us know if we can ever do anything for your sweet family.
ReplyDeleteLove, The Huish Family
Has a fund been established for contributions? If so, where is it at? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteDear Slaughter Family,
ReplyDeleteI was told about your story this morning and came home to find the story on KSL.com. You are at the beginning of a rough road that will build each of you in miraculous ways. Six year ago, we also started down that road and it was an amazing experience (tough, but worth every minute). Today, our daughter Elizabeth is strong, healthy, and moving forward (her story was in the December 2009 New Era). PCMC is the best!!!! They will take great care of you. You can do this. Our family's prayers will be with you.
Love, The Quigley Family (also from Kaysville)
Yes Tony a account has been set up @ America First Credit Union, it is the "Madey Slaughter Treatment Fund"
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome Madey! The story on KSL was so well done. I can't wait to see your Dad with his head shaved! Hang in there girl!
ReplyDeleteWe are thinking about you everyday Madey. Emilee keeps us posted with all the great things at school that the kids are doing for you! How many kids get to be on TV? You looked really good. Keep showing that beautiful smile. We love you and are cheering you on. The mertens family

ReplyDeleteOh, Slaughters! I heard about Madey on KSL, and instantly recognized "brother Slaughter" from my days at Davis High seminary 15 years ago. I have also had a child diagnosed with cancer, and we made it through! My love and prayers are with you, and I wish Madey and your family the best.
